We stayed in the Willerby Portland Caravan, lovely and clean lodge with everything you need from washing machine to dishwasher, to two showers and one bath. Very quiet spot on site, yet only 10 mins drive into Chester, Chester Zoo, local shopping/retail park (Greyhound) and 10 mins to a brilliant Greene King Pub The Oak for food. You are right on the border of North Wales too if you want to venture further, and only 20 mins to Cheshire Oakes Shopping Outlet - a great base to venture/explore.

Perfect for what we needed as 5 Adults.

Brilliant have been 4/5 times and no complaints excellent location

Great holiday had at the lovely Fir Trees site and very handy for visiting the Wirral and Merseyside.

The park was beautiful, quiet and well kept. We arrived at 8pm after reception had closed due to heavy traffic due to storm Amy but on arrival was met my security guard who gave us our keys and showed us to our caravan and explained about using the key fob.The caravan was beautiful, immaculate and spacious, the beds were so comfortable but the tv streaming was bit hit and miss due to signal issues because of the 80mph wind which couldn't be helped so we just watched film on YouTube instead. The site us very close to all amenities included city centre McDonald's ( which is ideal if you have children) and supermarkets. Chester zoo was only a 7 min drive from site which was our main reason for booking this site.

It is a really lovely place to stay, its quiet you can really relax and unwind. We have been going to Fir Trees on and off for many years it is a really lovely place.

Arrived early and Patrick at reception was super helpful and friendly and managed to check us in early , very quiet site , no facilities but that’s why we chose it , can walk into Chester along the river which was longer than we thought but very pretty . Very happy with our lodge.If you want a quite break.This is the place to stay.If you need to use the bus,it is quite a walk to the main road,but still ,keeps you fit.On the whole,I would go again and would recommend the lodge and site.

Overall an excellent stay, great value for money and a very quiet location on the outskirts of Chester. Plenty of space for 2 adults and 2 children in the caravan, with everything provided for self catering. Some improvements would be a play park for children, better WiFi, providing hand soap and having an all-hours launderette. We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely quiet and well cared for site. The caravan was spotless and everything in working order. Nice little veranda to sit out with seating and a table. Roomy and comfortable lounge area. Beds were super comfortable and bedrooms had plenty of storage.

Absolutely beautiful site, we have been before around 8 years ago so didn’t hesitate to return and pleased to say it’s exactly the same high standards as before. Caravan was lovely, spotlessly clean and everything seemed very new. The site is quiet, no clubhouse etc but very close to Chester centre and the wales border- we visited both and highly recommended! A very quiet site only a few hundred yards from a bus stop into Chester. Immaculate mobile home.

We stayed for 2 nights, but booked for 3 nights due to the very early checkout of 9am (same price) so we could leave at our leisure on the Sunday. Stayed in a three bed caravan which was excellent and spacious for the 3 of us. Fir Trees staff very kindly made the two twin beds rooms into doubles as the twins are mainly sized for children. The main double room had an ensuite toilet and sink which was very useful and there was an additional shower room. Well equipped with kitchen crockery, pans etc. There is a launderette, which we didn't use so cannot comment on. There were no other facilities which it clearly says in the description anyway. We only used it as a base to visit Chester so was ideal. 5-10 min drive uni Chester. Site was well maintained and secure. All in all, we had a lovely weekend away and would recommend as a base to visit Chester and surrounding areas.

We stayed in the Willerby Portland Caravan which has 3 bedrooms (one double, and two twin bed). The Caravan site is down a little lane, its very peaceful and quiet and approx 10 mins by car into Chester. The accommodation was immaculately clean, and towels and bedding are provided, and a lovely bottle of Rose for our arrival was a nice touch. My only feedback is please change the double mattress in the main bedroom the springs do poke you and I ended up sleeping on the double duvet cover and a single duvet cover to try and make the bed more comfortable for me to lay on - it is the only aspect that lets the caravan down. My partner who has a bad back, couldnt sleep on it at all and ended up in a single bed (not very romantic!) The site itself is convenient to Chester Zoo, close to The Greyhound Retail Park which has KFC, McDonalds, Asda living etc (less than 10 mins by car), It is also only 20 mins from Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet. We walked around the walls of Chester, visited the beautiful Chester Cathedral, had food at Oak Tree (Greene King Pub) 10mins from the site, and the food was brilliant. We also took a trip out to Tatton Park (National Trust) around an hour away, for a full day out, and if you want to venture into North Wales can highly recommend a walk on the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct (Wrexham) with outstanding views and a little visit into Wrexham to visit the football club. We would definitely visit the site again, its just a shame the bed let it down for us but this would not deter us from stopping again

After a few visits the park We decided to buy a new static caravan. Patrick and Darren were really helpful and made the transition as easy as possible. The site is very peaceful and well maintained. Chester city centre is only a couple of miles up The road and the retail park is even nearer. You would never think that you could relax in such a quiet Cheshire setting yet be so near shops , pubs, restaurants, Chester zoo and other attractions Our plot is well maintained and any small snagging issues have been quickly resolved. It’s our home from home and we love it. Last weekend the sun arrived and we got to sit on our new decking and just relax. There is no club house or pool but that suits us. You need to get a 4 or 5G data box but the signal is good so streaming the tv and surfing are fine. Everyone seems really friendly and the entrance has barriers and big gates that close securely at night with access via a key card. It feels very safe. If you are thinking of coming to Fir Trees then we can definitely recommend speaking to Patrick . There is no pressure but he will be happy to show you round if you wish. We stay weekend of 3-5th October, used the park as was close to all amenities included Chester Zoo which was only 7 mins drive away. We loved it, caravan was modern and pristine and very cosy and beds where so comfortable too.The park is very quiet, well kept and ideal for some rest and relaxation. We will definitely be returning in the future, I highly recommend this caravan park.

Went and stayed at fir trees in August with my wife and kids for a last minute break and what can I say! The caravan was immaculate, the caravan park itself was clean and tidy. Reception staff was lovely and really helpful whilst checking in and also gave us some lovely places to go for walks around Chester. I highly recommend if your looking for a peaceful break and enjoy sole walks to definitely check it out! Considering it was in the peak of the 6 weeks holiday it was peaceful, quite and completely relaxed.

Fabulous holiday park, everywhere is spotless and well maintained. So quiet and peaceful, the receptionist was lovely and check in was quick and efficient. Our caravan was situated at the back of the park, very easy to find. Perfect location for visiting Chester & Wales, we went to Chester zoo to the Christmas lantern walk and it was a 10/15 minute drive.

This was a lovely quiet site close to Chester. Whilst there we visited Chester Zoo, Beeston Castle for a medieval day and the Ice cream farm, all within 30 minutes drive which was great. Several supermarkets are also on the doorstep , 5 mins down the road, having said that, when on the site it felt like you were away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. Our caravan on the site was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. We would definitely stay again to visit this area.

Exactly as described..clean and tidy with everything you need ....except towels .this is the second time we've stayed here so knew to take them this time. Very quiet site even though there appeared to be lots of cars /people there probably for the races. If you want to visit Chester and North Wales this is perfectly situated for both places. Would definitely recommend and will probably stay here next time we visit my granddaughter who used to live very close but is now moving to live in Tarvin.

Lovely, quiet caravan park,this is our third stay here. Each caravan we have had has been very clean, comfortable, and modern. There is a retail park a minutes drive away ,handy for food shopping.A great quiet place to stay to visit North Wales and Chester.

Just spent a long weekend at Fir Trees. It certainly exceeded my expectations, caravan was beyond comfortable, very spacious with plenty of room for our family. En suite in the master bedroom was a lovely bonus, everything was extremely clean and well presented. Will most definitely return in the future

When we arrived we got to the reception and we were greeted by a extremely friendly man, who quickly and happily checked us in. We drove round the caravan park to get to our caravan. There was a decent amount of space to park outside our home for the week. When we saw the caravan for the first time we thought it was very spacious and homly. The rooms were nice but didn’t have enough sheets for us. Reception was closed so we called the park warden and with no problem, a nice friendly guy called Alan brought them for us. The caravan was very clean and comfy. Another thing that made the trip special is that the decking was big. Also because the park was close to a few very nice parts of Chester we enjoyed days away from the site. I also reccomend going right when going out the site and taking a nice evening walk up the canal. I highly recommend this caravan site and if I have the chance will return.

Travelled down for a week and used Firtrees as a base for making lots of trips - Chester Zoo, Cheshire Oaks and Anfield stadium tour to name a few. Ideal location. In terms of the caravan, it was of a very high quality indeed. Have stayed on a number of Haven sites and frankly, there is no comparison....the accommodation was superior in every way and fantastic value for money. Not fussed about the lack of pools etc.....for a chill-out few days away, you simply won't beat this place! 5 stars for me.

The park is excellent in many many ways, location, tranquil, clean and good security, so when it come to buying a caravan/lodge there are few parks as good in this area. We were well looked after from initial inquiry, across two visits and the questions in between, we decided to purchase and again Patrick was fantastic with his help, support and advice. But, once the keys are handed over does it stop there? Thankfully the answer is NO it does NOT, the team will go above and beyond in sorting out any issues quickly, staff and maintenance people are second to none, this is really a no worries, no fuss experience and one we are glad we took the decision to make!

My husband and I first visited Fir Trees 6 years ago, and due to the current pandemic decided to visit again with our three children who range between 13 and 8. We booked the Willerby Portland Lodge via Hoeseasons. WOW!! The lodge was simply stunning, immaculately clean, with top of the range appliances, including dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge, freezer and a coffee machine. This 3 bedroom lodge is incredibly spacious, with a good sized en-suite to the master bedroom, and the added bonus of a bath in the main bathroom which is helpful with young children. We all slept incredibly well in comfortable beds with blackout curtains. All items you could ever need are available making this a real home. Plus the WiFi kept our teenage daughter more than happy. The park itself is clean, peaceful and easy to navigate, and throughly deserves its 5 stars. The location is also fantastic, with supermarkets and shops virtually on the doorstep and major attractions such as Chester Zoo, Cheshire Oaks, the Ice Cream Farm, and North Wales as well as the lovely locality of Chester itself within a 20 minute drive. We will certainly be booking again for a short break next year.

Just returned from a 4 night stay in the Willerby Portland (2 bedroom) that we booked through Hoseasons. We stay on a Hoseasons park on average 2-3 times a year, due to COVID etc a lot of the parks we've visited previously were sold out so due to the location of Fir Trees decided to try somewhere new and we're really pleased we did. The lodge itself was perfectly laid out, extremely clean and has good quality furniture and bedding. There were 4 adults and 2 children in our party, 2 double beds 1 with en suite, a family bathroom and a sofa bed in the lounge, usually we stay in 3 bedroom lodges however this suited our needs this time. The decking and outside furniture were great quality and there was parking for both of our cars right outside. The park itself is quiet and mainly privately owned so there is a nice community feel. Location wise we visited Chester City and Chester Zoo, both a 15 minute drive, there are supermarkets, a retail park and McDonald's etc within a 5 minute drive. The only thing this lodge did not have that all other Hoseasons lodges we have stayed in have was towels so we had to buy some on the first night however we didn't mind this. There was a bottle of prosecco waiting on arrival which was a nice surprise. Nothing at all to complain about and will certainly stay at Fir Trees again if visiting the Chester area.

Have now moved into our second year of owning a lodge on fir trees,from the moment we first set eyes on the park we were absolutely taken by the openness and the space between units,the park is very helpful and well maintained,we come from the south so we looked at an awful lot of parks,but something kept pulling us back to fir trees we have owned caravans all over sussex but you just don’t get the peace and quite that’s available here,very satisfied owner

The caravan park was excellent, lovely private park and the caravan was spotless. welcome pack of tea, coffee and sugar sachets and biscuits were provided and the heating was on when we arrived (was about 8pm when we arrived, phoned the warden to be given keys and escorted to caravan.) Had ensuite in main bedroom and the bed was so comfortable, slept better than I do at home!!!! Very spacious and my two children (17 and 14) slept well in their bedroom Would definitely recommend a visit and if we visit Chester again, would book here again.

wanted a quiet peaceful base to visit Chester zoo and lake district, got exactly that, park is clean and tidy and well laid out. Caravans not crammed together like some sites. really enjoyed our stay would defiantly go back

Ideal location for exploring Chester, the north west of England and north Wales. This private caravan and lodge park is a real home from home with all local amenities close by. You won’t find on site entertainment/clubhouses here but you will find peace and tranquility which make this holiday park so special. Right on the national cycle route and just half a mile from the river, kids and adults alike can enjoy the outdoors, with plenty of places to visit right on the doorstep. City centre is 10 minutes away while retail parks are just down the road. The zoo is easily reached by car or bus and Cheshire Oaks can be reached in 20 minutes. This park has been a real find!

Ideal site and brilliant location... it’s very simple to check in/out and really very quiet too, our accommodation was amazing it was really clean and very spacious, it had Sky TV a cooker, fridge freezer just about all the mod cons you would need for your stay and 2 showers...!. The caravan we stayed in was number W34 which is situated towards the rear of the site and really nice, we stayed here in November so we could catch the Christmas lights in Chester. I would definitely recommend staying here and up to 5 people could stay here easily that's for sure, it’s a short trip on the bus and a return ticket for the three of us was £4 which I thought was great value.

There aren't any facilities on site but there is a massive retail park about 5 minutes away with asda, Tesco, boots etc. There was a little confusion when we checked in but it was quickly resolved and we were shown to the caravan. The caravan is a high spec and very clean, spacious with all utensils you would need. The power shower was great! Very happy we found this place as it was very comfortable and very close to Chester centre, we drove into town which took around 10 minutes and paid £5 for all day parking in the centre. We will definitely be returning to this site."

We absolutely loved it here. It was so quiet, we felt like we were the only ones on the park even though others were staying. None of the added extras like you get at Haven, etc, like WiFi etc but we didnt care. It was a great base for us too. The caravan was immaculate. We will be coming back.
